Wood Species

We only use REAL WOOD to build our Murphy Beds. You will not find particle board, OSB, MDF, or any type of construction-quality sheet goods in our beds. We only use furniture quality hardwood veneer plywood and solid hardwoods in our beds.

Our standard offerings are MAPLE, OAK, and MAHOGANY. We do have other hardwoods available. If your room design calls for other than these three, please give us a call.

Our pricing information includes a natural stain on your wood selection. In our opinion, this reflects the natural beauty and coloring of the wood as nature provided. If you desire a colored stain, please read the next section.

Custom Colors

As an option, we also offer additional stain colors as well as two paint colors. There is an upcharge for this service.

Below are two standard color charts that we use frequently. Clicking on them will open up a new window to reveal a PDF file that you can view, save, and/or print for your use.

When selecting colors from these charts, please note the color name, color number, and the chart name (Transtint or JE Moser). This will help greatly. Thanks!

We can also provide WHITE or BLACK cabinet/furniture grade finishes. If you want your cabinetry painted white or black, please specify MAPLE as the wood species. Then add a comment that you want white or black paint before you submit your Order Request. Maple wood will accept a painted finish much better than oak or mahogany.
